This jersey belonged to John "Shiner" Vander Hill (1887-1958), a member of the Holland Independents baseball team. John was born in Holland, MI to Johannes Vander Hill (1837-1906) and Adriana de Frel (1843-1937).In 1914 John married Johanna Notier (1889-1953). John worked in Holland at the Bay View Furniture Co. for 50 years.
The donor, Rev. George Vander Hill, is John's son.
