Description
Pair of lace-up, high top, lady's shoes made of soft dark brown leather with pointed toes; shoe and long tongue are lined with white twill; "Stylish Stout Out Sizes Trademark" is near top; numbers are stamped inside "480 233 33260"; 16 eyelets are on each side for laces; right shoe has thin brown laces, left is without laces; layered heel is 1 1/5" high capped with hard rubber and printed with "Goodyear"; well used but not worn out; worn by donor's grandmother Helen Dykema.
History
These shoes belonged to Helen Hamm Dykema. She was born on 1-22-1884. She married Nick Dykema in Holland, MI on 1-19-1910. They lived in Holland at 48 East 18th Street (1913 city directory and 1958 obituary). Nick worked as a tailor in town.

Helen passed away on 9-20-1958.
