Costume jacket, measures 26" x 19" x .25". Red cotton jacket with fine green stripes; double breasted front with five black buttons attaching on either side (ten in all); back with open slit on each side; gray fabric lining; neck area yellowed.History
Costume 2000.2.16a-b was worn by William Vande Water at numerous Tulip Time events in Holland, MI.William served as a Boy Scout commissioner from about 1925 to 1985. He also worked for the Holland Sentinel and the Holland Chamber of Commerce. William "Bill" Vande Water was born in 1901 to Martinus Vande Water and Bertha Van Oort. Bill married Kathryn Van Ry (1901-1983) in Holland, MI on 10-26-1925. They lived at 62 West 22nd Street in Holland. Their son was Randy Vande Water.
