Description
Black plastic and silver metal "Polaroid Land Camera, Square Shooter 2" with flash attachment area. A molded plastic carrying strap is attached to back. Items b-c are two aluminum rectangles "Polaroid Cold-Clip #204" used only for developing color pictures when temperature is 65 degrees F or below. Instructions are to "warm Cold-Clip in inside pocket or between body and arm under coat for 5 minutes before using" then place used film between two warmed pieces of metal, holding against body for 60 seconds more. 
History
Ruth Cornell Athey was born in 1922 to the Honorable Thurber and Pauline Cornell of Howell, Michigan. She started teaching in 1952 but it appears she accepted a position to work for the Michigan Children’s Aid Society. In 1971 she ran for Holland City Council seat in the 6th ward. Ruth earned her teaching certificate from Michigan State University in 1943. In 1950 she and her husband, Bryan, moved to Holland. Ruth began teaching for Holland High School in 1952. Starting in 1967 she owned and operated Antiques Etc., which was located on the northeast corner of 16th St and Central Ave. Ruth was involved with Women’s Literary Clud, the A.A.U.W. and volunteered with the Red Cross. Ruth and Bryan had two daughters, Phyllis Jean and LuAnn. Ruth died January 14, 2016.
