Dutch costume 2001.28.1a-l belonged to Holland, MI resident Anne Huisman. Anne was born in the Netherlands on 1-15-1913.She had the costume made in 1970 in Leeuwarden, Friesland, Netherlands (see 2001.28.6). Anne wanted her costume to be authentic in honor of her ancestors. She wore her costume to the Dutch Heritage Show in 1971, held annually in the Civic Center during Tulip Time. She continued this practice until 1998.
Anne passed away in Holland, MI on 4-28-2006.
