Description
Long white tatted kneecaps ending in a 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" ornamental tatted medallion built around d a circle; heavily stiffened; held on a folded blue paper with "Tatted Necklas V.N.L." penned at bottom.
History
Marion Shackson was born on 12-15-1905 in Onaway, MI. She moved to Holland, MI with her family in 1928. Marion's parents were John (1861-1943) and Mattie Shackson (1872-1959). Her siblings included Ramona (a teacher at Van Raalte School in Holland, MI); Rolland (Hope professor); Edith; and Renetta.
The Shacksons lived in Holland, MI at 202 West 15th Street (1934 city directory) and 311 West 12th Street (1938, 1965 city directories).
In 1928 Marion began a 45 year teaching career in Holland. Many of those years were spent teaching English at EE Fell. Marion passed away in Holland, MI on 10-7-2001.;
