Description
Deep wooden frame displays a deeper gold sided box holding a spray of seven dry fluffed out seed pods (milkweed).  Each satin-like ball is tan to golden in color.  The cluster is tied with red, white and blue ribbons.  Fine stems of wheat heads and weeds are included.  All mounted on dark red velvet.  Square and round nails hold the various layers of the box frame together.  A shiny fabric seals the back.  The painting belonged to the donor's grandmother, Elizabeth Norton Shaw.
