Description
Heavy tan cotton gown with straight sides and short sleeves; V-neck has a leather collar extending to waist in front; collar is edged with leather strings of colored wooden beads that hang almost to hem and from collar in back; strings of glass beads in many colorful design panels also decorate collar ending in fringe; leather fringe finishes underarm seam; leather cutouts of trees are appliqued to sleeves; cuffs are trimmed with glass bead fringe and heavy 1" beaded border; front of gown with large applique tree and three round emblems with painted designs ; hem is finished with a dark brown, leather fringe topped by a 1/2" wide beaded border of colorful design panels; side seams split at hem.
History
2002.4.10-28 are all Camp Fire Girl objects that belonged to the donors' mother, Leona Schaddelee Lugers (1906-2001). Leona lived in Holland, MI on South Shore Drive with her husband James ( -1996). Both are buried in Holland's Graafschap Cemetery.
