History
Grand Rapids artist William Kubiak was commissioned in the early 1970s by Holland’s Ottawa Savings and Loan Bank (located at 10th and Central). The painting hung in the bank lobby for many years.

The painting eventually found their way to storage where it was discovered by an employee of 5th Third.

William Kubiak is an authority on the life of Native Americans of the Great Lakes.
