Description
Short, black revolver with cylinder holding five bullet chambers, sides of grip are made of a dark wood, hammer and firing pin have stiff action.  Large bore, metal attachment ring on bottom, side of barrel is engraved with "H" under a star and "E/L G" above the star, in a circle.
History
This revolver belonged to Hendrik Jan Roelofs (1855-1937). He served in the Dutch military unit known as the Grenadier Jagers in the Hague. In 1920, Hendrik emigrated to Grand Rapids, MI where he lived with his daughter Helena.
The donor is Hendrik's granddaughter.
