History
This United States flag hung over the U.S. Capitol on April 11, 2001, at the request of the Honorable Pete Hoekstra. Congressman Hoekstra donated the flag to the Holland Museum in commemoration of the September 11, 2001 bombings of the World Trade Center and Pentagon - given during the remembrance service held in Centennial Park on September 11, 2002.
