Description
Laotian mouth organ, also called a "khene jat". This mouth organ consists of 10 hollow pieces of bamboo of varying lengths, bound together in three places by red "string" and a piece of wood.
History
The khene, or bamboo mouth organ, is the national instrument of Laos. This one, a gift of Holland, MI area resident Phouvong Thempvong, was made in Laos. It belonged to the donor.
