Bronze cross attached to a red and green striped ribbon with a solid bronze piece in the shape of a palm leaf.The cross has a circle in the center, with the image of Liberty (a woman). Behind the circle are two swords. The circle contains the words "Republique Francaise".
History
Items in 2003.114 belonged to World War One veteran Herman Prins. Herman was born in Holland, MI in 1888 to Peter and Elizabeth Prins. He was a life long resident of Holland, a member of the Fourteenth Street Christian Reformed Church and former employee at Chris-Craft.The donor, Roger Prins, is Herman's nephew.
