History
Jacob E. Zwemer was born on April 10, 1894 in Ottawa County, MI. He married Helene H. Nykamp (1895-1972).

Jacob lived in the Holland, MI area his entire life. He was a veteran of World War One (a Polar Bear).

Jacob owned Central Hardware and was a member of Faith Christian Reformed Church.

Jacob died in Holland on July 3, 1976. He was buried in Graafschap Cemetery in Holland, MI.

The boots shown in this photo were Jacob's US Army boots from World War One. He received them in 1918 while at Camp Custer. He was one of 52 men from Holland, MI to leave for Camp Custer on May 29, 1918. They spent six weeks there training before being shipped off to England for more training. From England, he was sent to Russia to fight the Red army.
