History
Herman Van Ark was born in the Netherlands in 1889. He emigrated to the US in 1901.Herman worked for the City of Holland Street Department and a furniture factory. While serving in WW1, Herman was attacked by the enemy with gas. He also injured his leg, possibly in battle. Herman died in 1973. For more on Herman Van Ark, please see 1992.46.1-4
