Color painting by Holland, MI resident Henry Veldheer of the welcome entrance of Jenison Park along Lake Macatawa.
History
Jenison Park, also known as Jenison Electric Park, was an amusement park that operated ca 1892-1920's. The park had wooden roller coaster and a variety of rides and games. Many guests were brought to the park by the Interurban electric train or by boat. The park was located in the Park Township, in Macatawa area on the south side of Lake Macatawa before Eldeans Shipyard.

Henry Marvin Veldheer was born in 1915. He lived in Holland, MI and worked as a refrigerator repairman. Henry’s wife was Mae R. (1918-2011). Henry died in 2007. Both Henry and Mae are buried in Holland’s Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
