Grandchildren of Simon Pokagon (1830-1899) and Lodinaw Angeline (1836-1871), Julia Pokagon (1882-1945), Mary Pokagon (1884- ), Secsalia "Celia" Pokagon (1892-1905) and Jewett Pokagon (1895-1977) were children of William Pokagon (1857-1898) and Lezette (Lizette??) Musaw (1867- ). Because they were all under the age of 14, they were granted a guardian.Julia married Michael Quigno. The 1910, 1920 and 1930 US Census shows them residing in Covert, Van Buren Co., MI. Their children included Katherine and Joe.
Celia Pokagon died of pneumonia in Hatford, Van Buren Co., MI in 1905. She was 13 years old.
Jewett Pokagon married Susan Alexis in 1933. The 1920 and 1940 US Census show him living in Hartford, Van Buren Co., MI.
Simon Pokagon (1830-1899) was a Pottawatomy Chief. He spoke at Holland’s semi-centennial. The Pottawatomy tribe assisted the Dutch colonists in west Michigan.
