Copper candy kettle (2010.5.1a) and metal tripod base.History
The donor worked on 8th Street, in Holland, at the Hansen Drug Store. He received the candy kettle from longtime neighbor Cornelius W. Blom III (1893-1971).The candy kettle was used as early as 1906 and as late as 1921 by Cornelius Blom, Jr. (1867-1947), Holland fire chief and father of Cornelius W. Blom III, in his candy store on River Street. The elder Blom was known as “jr.” because his father was also Cornelius Blom, saloon operator.
