History
The tools in accession 2011.7 were used by Henning Christiansen, Holland, MI resident and business owner.

Henning was born in Copenhagen, Denmark where, in 1943, he began his craft of violin making as an apprentice. He served in the Danish Military before moving to Chicago in 1952 where he worked for the firm of Lyon and Healy as a stringed instrument maker.

Henning moved to Holland, MI in 1987 to establish his violin manufacturing and repair business on 8th Street. He passed away on June 30, 2010 in Holland.
