History
This quilt was made by Marie “Mary” Van Den Tak Witteveen (1882-1962) sometime between 1895 and 1919. She married Jacob Witteveen (1883-1943) in Holland, MI on 9-30-1915. They lived in Holland, MI and are both buried in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.

The initials “MVDT” are hers. The “PVDT” is her father, Peter Van Den Tak. The “AVDT” is probably Marie’s sister Anna. The “EVDT” is probably Marie’s brother Edward. Marie’s mother, Elizabeth, might be the :LDVT” (Lizzie??).

There daughter, Wilhelmina Witteveen Pelon, donated 2013.8. Wilhelmina’s daughter, Mary Ten Harmsel, delivered 2013.8 to the museum.
