Given in memory of Peggy De Weerd.DE WEERD - Peggy Ann DeWeerd, age 64, of Holland, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Spectrum Health Blodgett Campus. Peggy loved buying and selling antiques and was known as the "Auction Queen". She worked at Meijers for many years. She is survived by her husband, of 43 years, Erv; children, Jennifer Daigle of Grand Haven, Joseph DeWeerd of Holland; four grandchildren, Samantha, Sydney, Drake, Andrew; parents, Richard and Clark Scheerhorn of Holland; brothers and sister, Rick and Cheryl Scheerhorn of Sparta, Vicky and Stu Eppinga of Holland, Kirk and Cindy Scheerhorn of Holland; sisters-in-law, Dee Alofs of Allegan, Mary and Jim Nienhuis of Bryon Center; several nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 19939 James Street in Holland. Reverend James Baar will be officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service at Lakeshore Memorial Services. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland or the Kidney Foundation of West Michigan.
