Souvenir necklace brought home as a war souvenir by Donald Bouwman from New Guinea after WWII.Donald was born in East Saugatuck, MI on 2-11-1917, the son of Henry Bouwman and Lucy Thomas. Donald lived in the Holland, MI area his entire life. After serving in the US Army during WWII, Bouwman drove truck for Holland Motor Express.
Donald married Anna Evink Sas on 6-25-1944.
Donald was affiliated with Company D, the National Guard unit in Holland, MI. He died 4-27-1983. He was buried in Restlawn Memorial Gardens (Holland, MI).
