History
Donald Bouwman was born in East Saugatuck, MI on 2-11-1917, the son of Henry Bouwman and Lucy Thomas.

Don entered the US Army in 1941. He was affiliated with Company D, the National Guard unit in Holland, MI. Company D was part of the 126th Infantry Regiment, which, in turn, was part of the 32nd Infantry Division (Red Arrow).
Don was sent overseas in April of 1942, returning to the US in July of 1944. He was discharged Feb. 9, 1945.

Don lived in the Holland, MI area his entire life. After serving in the US Army during WWII, Bouwman drove truck for Holland Motor Express.
He married Anna Evink Sas on 6-25-1944.

Don died 4-27-1983. He was buried in Restlawn Memorial Gardens (Holland, MI).
