History
Louis, Edith, Wilma, Marion and Afred Hoeksema are the children of John Hoeksema and Mary Dalman.

The children's paternal grandfather, Albertus Hoeksema (1828-1906), arrived in the US ca. 1854 from the Netherlands. With the help of his wife Trijntje Medendorp Hoeksema (1837-1937), and their children, the family farmed this land.
Their children included the following:
Jantje (1856- ); Martje (1859-1979); Alice (1862-1937); Peter (1867-1951); jacob (187-1955); Anne (1872-1919); John (1875-1951); and, Albert (1878-1962).

John Hoeksema took over the farm from his father. John's wife was Mary Dalman (1881-1966). After Mary's death in 1966, the farm was sold the following year to Ron and Joan Kortening. They farmed the land until 2004, when they sold it to Hospice of Holland.
