Ruth M Keppel was one of the daughters of Albert Christian Keppel and his wife, Cornelia "Kate" (De Vries) Keppel.

Ruth shows up first on the 1900 US Census living with her parents and 2 sisters in Holland, Ottawa County, Michigan on June 16, 1900. Her father was listed as Albert C Keppel (31), born in Aug 1869 in Michigan. His occupation was listed as "Wood and coal dealer". Her mother was listed as Carnelua (sic) Keppel (30), born in Jul 1870 in Michigan, and is listed as having had 3 children, all 3 of whom were still living. They had been married for 8 years. Both of Albert's parents and both of Cornelia's parents were born in the Netherlands.

Ruth was listed as Ruth M Keppel (4), born in Mar 1896 in Michigan. Her older sister Evelyn was listed as Eleyn G Keppel (6), born in Aug 1894 in Michigan. Her younger sister Vera J was listed as Jenette Keppel (0), born in Feb 1900 in Michigan.

The 1910 US Census found the Keppel family still living in Holland. On the 1930 US Census, the family name was misspelled as Kepple. Only 2 daughters still lived at home in Holland with their parents, Albert C Kepple (60) and his wife Kate De V Kepple (59). The daughters were Ruth Kepple (31) and Lois Kepple (19).
