This piece belonged to the donor's mother, Frieda M. Kruid (1909-2000). Frieda was born in Holland, MI on 7-20-1909. She died on 3-28-2000 in Orlando, FL. She is buried in Florida beside her husband Edward.The Kruids lived at 546 West 24th in Holland, MI as early as 1947 (see city directory) and as late as 1960 (city directory). Edward worked at De Witt Hatchery.
Frieda worked at Holland Furnace Company. The piece was used at the Holland Furnace Company for many years. When the company closed, employees were allowed to take home dishes, silverware, etc.
