Description
One pair of tan wooden shoes.  On the right shoe is the name "Carol Van Lente".  On the left shoe are the words "27 Years of Service to Education".  Each shoe has several signatures on the heel.  The left shoe contains the following signatures:Walt Wilson; Bill K??; ??; Jarold ??; and, :??.  The right shoe contains the following signatures: Ray ?? "Cookie"; Larry ??; Martha ??; and, Linda Eshelman.
History
These shoes belonged to the donor's mother, Carol Van Lente.


Carol J. Van Lente, 92, of Holland, died peacefully at Resthaven Care Center on Monday, April 18, 2016.
Carol was well known as a teacher and high school counselor in the Holland Public Schools system. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, in 2004.
She is survived by her children, Michael Van Lente and Janice Van Lente, both of Holland; grandchildren, Michael and Sarah Catlin, JoAnne Catlin, Meryl and Michael Van Lente-Vink, Adam Van Lente and Janelle Zanoni; great-grandchildren, Rebekah, Isabel, Malachi, Benjamin, Noah, Elias, and Flynn; close nephew, Bill Van Dyke; and numerous nephews and nieces.
A celebration of life for both Carol and Jim will be held at a future date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Resthaven Care Center or Hospice of Holland.
