Description
Application for war ration book number 3 issued to Henry Hyma of 30 Graves Place, Holland, MI. The red number stamped on the back is "No. 405735 DM". On the front of the application, there is a purple stamp in the upper right corner with a bald eagle (3 cent stamp). The postmark reads "Holland Mich. Jun 10 9am 1943". This application, in the form of a postcard, was mailed to Detroit, to the OPA Mailing Center.
History
This rationa pplication was issued to Henry A. Hyma (1867-1955)of 30 Graves Places, Holland, MI. Henry married Fannie Haverkate and had two children: Andrew M. Hyma and John H. Hyma. After Fannie died in 1893, Heenry married Jennie Bosman. They had two daughters, Willamine and Alice. Henry is buried in Pilgrim Home.
