History
Henry Haveman, born 9-26-1862 in the Netherlands, owned and operated a meat market and grocery store at 577-579 College in Holland, MI from as early as 1910. He died on 8-9-1919 in Fremont, MI. The store continued under the Haveman name for several more years before becoming John Hulst & Son by 1929. Henry was married to Jantje "Jane/Jennie" Ploeg (1864-1955). They had several children: Henry, Jr.; Elsie; Minnie; Jennie.
