Gerald E. Slagh was born in Holland, MI on 9-13-1899 to Barteld "Bert" Slagh (1872-1926) and Henrietta Anna Jonkhoff (1872-1948). He resided in Holland, MI up into the early 1920's. Soon after, he moved to Arkansas, where he married Grace Taylor in 1926.Gerald spent over 20 years as a physical therapist at the VA hospital in Little Rock.
He died in Little Rock, Arkansas on March 4, 1960.
