Description
Negative taken from Holland State Park/Ottawa Beach looking north. Several dozen unidentified people can be seen playing in the waters of lake Michigan or lying on the beach. The bath house is visible at right. Hills and trees can be seen in the distance.
History
Ottawa Beach is the name given to the area along the north side of the channel and northwest section of Lake Macatawa, in Park Township. It received its name in 1886 with the construction of the hotel Ottawa, built on a hillside near the beach.
