History
This photograph was taken by Fred Bulford (1916-2009) at Bulford Studio of Portrait Photography, 50 East 8th St., Holland, MI. Fred moved to Holland, MI in 1944 with his wife Helen. They lived at 104 East 29th in Holland from as early as 1954 and as late as 1974.

Lida Rogers, who was a Holland High School biology teacher, suggested starting a Tulip Day during a speech to the Women's Literary Club on April 26, 1927.  She was interested in making Holland a beautiful city.  Tulip Time grew out of her original idea. 

Lida Rogers was born on June 20, 1877 in Adrian, MI to Asa Rogers and Meribah Wells. Lida passed away in Marne, MI on June 14, 1963.
