Description
Mother's Day card, in the shape of a book, with purple violets inside and outside of the book.  The front of the book shows the caption "To Mother On Mother's Day".
On the inside, right, there are more violets.  The card is signed "Ben, Grace, Brenda Elizabeth".
History
This card was given to Sara Vander Putten, mother of Grace Bos.

The donor’s grandparents were Jacob Vander Putten and Sara Wynders.
Jacob was born September 17, 1880 in the Netherlands. He died April 28, 1952 in Holland, MI. Jacob worked at Hart & Cooley for 25 years, retiring in 1945. He lived with his wife, Sara Wynders Vander Putten (1882-1968) in Holland, MI at 37 East 8th Street and, later, at 702 North Shore Drive. Both are buried in Pilgrim Home.
The Vander Putten’s adopted Jacob’s niece and nephew, Henry (1911-1969) and Grace (1913-1984) Vanden Hoff Vander Putten, in 1918, when the mother of Henry and Grace passed away. Henry was born in 1911, Grace was born in 1913.
Grace married Berend Bos. He worked as a cabinet maker. They had one child, the donor, Brenda.
Brenda Bos was born in Holland, MI in 1940 to Berend Bos (1906-1981) and Grace Vander Putten (1913-1984). Brenda grew up in Holland at 259 West 23rd Street. She graduated from Holland High School in 1958 and went on to attend Davenport University in Grand Rapids.
Brenda worked in Holland at General Electric from about 1961 to 1993.
