Sena Hulsman Kortering was born in 1860. She married Dirk Kortering (1850-1912) in Overisel, Allegan County, MI on 12-19-1888. US Census from 1900 and 1910 list their residence as Overisel. Sena passed away in 1913 and was buried in Overisel Cemetery beside Derk..

Their daughter was Julia Kortering Boeve, born April 8, 1891 in Overisel, MI. She married John J. Boeve on 11-30-1916. Julia died on 2-14-1965, John died on 4-4-1955. Both are buried in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Their son, Donald H. Boeve, was born 5-31-1918 and died 11-29-1970. Donald married Alma Mae Helder on 10-30-1921.
