History
Jessie Dalman was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 17,1933. She married Ronald L. Dalman in 1957 and has three children Ronald, Friedrich, and Kristina. She graduated from Redford Highschool in Detroit and pursued a BA in Business Administration at Michigan State University. Dalman went on to do graduate work at Wayne State University and earn an MA in Economics from the University of Michigan. Dalman was the first woman to serve as Ottawa County Commissioner. After 6 terms, in 1989, she was elected chair of the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners. She then went on to become a Michigan State Representative representing District 55 from 1991-1992 and District 90 from 1993-1998. This collection gives a look into the daily life and work of Jessie Dalman as she served four terms in the Michigan House of Representatives.
