Description
Black and white photograph of a group of men in suits around a rock with the letters "G.A.R" engraved on it. One man is holding a pole with the American flag on it. It is possibly for the creation of the Holland chapter of the Grand Army of the Republic, which was organized on July 17, 1884, by veterans of the Civil War. The chapter was the A.C. Van Raalte Post No. 262.
