History
From 1926 to 1931 the Strand Theater operated in the building at 9 West 8th Street (city directories). Henry Carley operated both the Strand and the Holland Theater during those years.

Carley opened the Center Theater at the location of the Strand, 9 West 8th Street, ca. 1941. The Center Theater remained open through 1954 (city directories).

The Dutch Mill Restaurant began ca. 1938 at 5 West 8th as the Dutch Mill Cafe. At that time there was already a Dutch Mill Restaurant in town, inside the Warm Friend Hotel. By 1945 the Dutch Mill Cafe, still at 5 West 8th, had become the Dutch Mill Restaurant. City directories show that the Dutch Mill Restaurant continued in business up through 1954.
