This photograph was part of a Holland Sentinel article from March 20, 1970 celebrating Gerrit's 101st birthday. His parents were Pieter Van Anrooy (1831-1903) and Zwaantje Hofmeyer (1836–1902). His siblings included the following: John Frederick Van Anrooy (1857–1943); Jane Van Anrooy Plaggemars (1859–1918); Benjamin Van Anrooy (1861–1902); Jacob Van Anrooy (1864–1963); Wilhelmina Rosina Van Anrooy Manting (1867–1948); Abraham Van Anrooy (1871–1961); Catherine Elizabeth Van Anrooy Saggers (1877–1932).Gerrit married Johanna C. Slabbekorn (1873–1942). Their children included the following: Oscar James Van Anroy (1903–1999); Viola June Van Anrooy (1906–1993).
