Former Holland, MI mayor Ben Steffens was born to John and Ella Steffens on 3-13-1880 in Germany. The family arrived in the US ca. 1881.Ben married Maggie Westmaas on 4-23-1902 in Holland, MI. City directories and the US Census show that Ben resided in Holland, MI throughout the teens, 20's, 30's and 40's. He passed away in Holland on 4-13-1947.
