Vernon Leonard was the Editor of the Holland Herald, a newsmagazine of the Netherlands. The February Issue of 1972 featured Holland, Michigan.

Henry John Heinz founded the Heinz company in 1869 in Pennsylvania. The Holland Heinz pickle plant opened in 1897 and is purported to be the largest pickle plant in the world.
