History
T88-0052 consists of the Marvin De Vries papers. Marvin was a writer and composer of national acclaim, writing for the Saturday Evening Post and scripts for the Lone Ranger radio program, amoung otherthings. Marvin was born in Overisel, MI in 1897. His parents were Igar and Margaret De Vries. Marvin attended Hope College in 1915, served in WWI , and married Christine Cappon in Detroit in 1925. By the 1940s, Marvin was living in Holland, MI at 228 West 9th Street. He died in 1956 and was buried in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
