Hope Memorial Chapel, located on College Avenue on the campus of Hope College in Holland, MI, was completed in 1929 at a cost of $404,000. It was renamed Dimnent Memorial Chapel in 1959 to honor Dr. Edward D. Dimnent, the fifth president of Hope. Dimnent spearheaded the construction effort back in 1927-28.Dr. Edward Dimnent was born on 8-14-1874 in Chicago, IL. He passed away on 7-4-1959. Dimnent was president of Hope College from 1918-1931.
