2021.38.28-46 tells the story of John Tysse's campaign for the 6th Ward council position in 1979.John Tysse is a Holland area resident, businessman and councilman. He graduated from Hope College and has worked as a realtor in town (Russell Klaasen Agency and Woodland Realty).
Gerrard W. Haworth (1911-2006) was teaching at East Junior High in 1938. By 1945 he was teaching shop class at Holland High and lived at 646 River Ave with his wife Dorcas.
By 1948 G.W. had left his teaching position and founded Modern Products, a small manufacturer of custom wood products. Nine years later the company became incorporated and renamed Modern Products Company.
By 1976 Modern Products Company had been re-named Haworth, Inc. and the company moved toward the exclusive production of office furniture systems. In 1981 they opened corporate headquarters in Holland, Michigan.
