Photograph of the young forest, 1937, at the Forest School. This is a photograph from a page in the scrapbook of the School Forest. The scrapbook is to document the Biology/School Forest project at Keppel Forest Preserve. Keppel Forest Preserve is located at Lakewood Blvd and 168th Ave. The School Forest was a project Lida Rogers who was a Holland High School biology teacher, she also suggested starting a Tulip Day during a speech to the Women's Literary Club on April 26, 1927. She was interested in making Holland a beautiful city. Tulip Time grew out of her original idea. Lida also worked hard on the Keppel School Forest and other beautification project for Holland.
