Description
Letter (and envelope) on Heinz North America letterhead, dated 11-24-2008. This letter was written by Jerry Shoup to Bob Dykstra concerning the preservation of local history, specifically the history of the Holland-Racine Shoe Company by way of a historic plaque.
History
Historic signage commemorating the Holland-Racine Shoe Factory was placed on the Kollen Park Walkway near Heinz in 2018. Those responsible for gathering information and funding for the historic marker are Holland, MI residents Jerry Shoup, Bob Dykstra, Andy Kenton and Grace Smith. Holland Museum staff member Rick Jenkins also contributed historical data.
