Breechloader rifle used by the 35th Michigan Volunteer Infantry during the Spanish-American War.

History
This rifle was a gift to Seymour Padnos when his term as Commodore of the Macatawa Bay Yacht Club was completed. That was in 1970. The club somehow acquired it from a collection. They chose that particular rifle as a gift as they knew Seymour was a collector of Michigan and the Great Lakes history. It hung in his study for the past 50 years.
