Program from a Holland Elementary Schools program titled "Uncle Sam Visits Holland". Written and directed by Margaret Van Vyven, Supervisor of Vocal Music. It was held Thursday, February 24, 1944 in Holland High School Auditorium.
History
Margaret Van Vyven taught in the Holland Public Schools from 1931-1940 in grades kindergarten through fourth. She worked as music supervisor from 1941-1955 and as elementary coordinator from 1955 until her retirement in 1973. She was honored as parade marshal for two different Tulip Times, in 1979 and in 2000. Margaret and Gertrude were the daughters of John Van Vyven who was the original directory of the Holland American Legion Band. there mother was Anna.
