History
Helen Joldersma was born August 8, 1896, in Holland. She served in China from 1926-1928, as a medical missionary where she experienced first-hand what it was like to live among civil unrest. Helen died on January 31, 1928, at age 31 in Quanzhou, Fujian, China. She is buried in Xiamen, Fujian, China. Helen’s parents are Jacob and Gertrude (Halbertsma) Joldersma. Her siblings are Lambert Joldersma (1898-1986), a baby boy who died young in 1904, Gary b.1907, Gertrude b.1908, and James Marvin b.1912.
