History
John W. Duncan was born on Dec. 2nd, 1838 in Caledonia, MI. On Aug. 5th, 1862, he enlisted in the 21st Michigan Infantry Co. E. On Nov. 2nd, 1864, he was reported sick in Nashville, TN, and was discharged on Dec. 6th, 1864. Later in life, he moved to Holland, MI. He passed on Nov. 11th, 1922 in Allegan, MI, and is interred in Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego, MI.
