Mass familyHeinrich H. Mass was captain of the boats the Henrietta and the Union. He was born in Schleswig, Holstein, Germany November 30, 1821, and died May 5, 1902. Heinrich's wife was Marigje "Mary" Korbijn, born in 1834 and died in 1924. Both Heinrich and Mary are buried in the New Groningen Cemetery, Zeeland, MI.
Their children included the following: Margaret; Bathan; Johan D (John); Pieter, 1864-1943 (Peter); Geertren (Gertie); and, Sophie.
Peter Mass was born January 8, 1864, in the Netherlands, and died August 14,1943. He was buried in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. His wife is Martha (Hazekamp) was born May 9, 1866 in Holland, MI and died June 14, 1943.
Their children were as follows: Peter Albert Mass; Henry Hans Mass; and, Reka Mass Bontekoe.
Peter Albert Mass born August 7, 1909, and died July 21, 1998. His wife is Joan (Johanna) Margaret (Plescher) Mass. They were married on December 26, 1941.
Henry Hans Mass, born January 29, 1899. He died May 20, 1966.
Reka Mass was born in March 1896 and died December 4, 1947. Reka married Jacob Bontekoe.
